One VP is going to survive his Prez, at minimum anagraphically.

Both vp candidates know they are less charismatic than the top slot.

Granted the gulf is much larger on the R side but they both are doing the job.

I agree with Elmer but I think it also that as Stve has said, the old bull Dems know their diversity candidates really are not ready for prime time so this is to assure/fool the voters.

Is there any evidence that Walz is prepared for the job? I love a great "high school coach becomes president" story like anybody but he's still a high school teacher.

I think Hastert would have been a great President, except for all the pederasty.

Nobody's conspiracy theory about elite pedophile rings ever includes Speaker of the House Hastert.

walz is a good pick because many voters will feel comforted by seeing an old white guy but when he talks he comes across very resentful and kind of pathetic, like a petty HOA president who measures the height of your grass.

Especially when he pushes to ban your gas lawnmowers and chainsaws, as he has in Minnesota.

The DEI harem couldn't pass up an opportunity to have a [biracial] woman ahead of an elderly white man. The optics are too good for them.

He is my governor. He assumed dictatorial powers for two years during the fake pandemic, wielding power like a true autocrat. First thing with triumvirate power, made abortion legal on demand any time even after birth, second, MN a trans refuge state, all in on the sterilizing and mutilating of kids.. Used a 18bil surplus to grease cronies and attract migrants. Wants to make mn an immigrant refuge state, and possible for the state to convince you to kill yourself. Bailed on 20 yrs in nat grd, no combat, in 2005, about the time nat grd got sent for long tours in Afghanistan.

Tim Walz is only one year older than Kamala--he looks like her dad! According to Pollak at Breitbart, Walz wouldn't give Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey National Guard troops during the riots that ravaged parts of his city.

This seems especially prevalent on sites selling technology. Like Sony. Or Bose, owned by MIT. Looking at the Bose site for headphones it's all Blacks and Asians, with the occasional White woman thrown in. If you manage to find a picture of a White man it's an old man with his face covered with a beard. And this is the same for their website in countries that have a large White majority. (East European countries siding with the U.S. for money, you think you'll escape? Look at the U.S. textbooks in your "sociology" classes, Estonia, and what papers your female sociology students write.) Same for a U.S. ad company I just looked at - there seems to be a strategy where the lone White man is old and bearded, and preferably with big glasses, anything to cover the face.

Being a resident of the Land of 10,000 Lakes (Taxes) I can assure you there is plenty of ammo for Trump and Vance to attack the worst Governor Minnesota has ever had. Walz squandered a $18 billion dollar budget surplus. Let Minneapolis burn down, including a police precinct, during the George Floyd riots. (peaceful protests) and whose administration was asleep at the wheel for a $450 million dollar feed the children fraud. We almost want a Harris/Walz ticket to win so we can get rid of this bastard!

If the goal was to appeal to blue collar voters why not Joe Manchin?

Walz is fairly innocuous, which is why "politics as usual" springs to mind with regards to his pick. I have to wonder though if this is the wrong cycle for that, given what's going on in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Argentina, etc. The Dems had better hope that whatever is sloshing around in those countries doesn't wash up on these shores.

By contrast look at Vance, who apparently was telling a story at the Atlanta rally about praying that his mother would wake up after she OD'd.

Wondrously and utterly unsurprisingly, the email announcing this Substack post came with an ad for "Careers at P&G" involving the usual photo of nine racially and I suppose ethnically heterogeneous types. Tagline: "Make an impact on more than just your career #PGDAY1"

Mickey Kaus, writing today, on Tim Walz:

"My overriding reaction to Walz is that he's full of himself. The 'Aw Shucks' got lost somewhere on the Web. Yes, they're all full of themselves, but if they're as good as they think they are they can fake modesty convincingly." (This written after Kaus saw the Tim Walz self-congratulatory speech at his launch party).
