I might be the subscriber who lives closest to you...just on the other side of Mulholland in Beverly Glen.

I'll look for you at Ralphs on Ventura!

Erik's avatar

I might be closer but you have the higher ground; Steve would be foolish to attack you

The paid subscriber map is like the total subscriber map only more so, EXCEPT Vermont suddenly jumps from the lightest shade to the darkest shade.

Vermonters don't take anything without paying, apparently, which confirms the experience of anyone who has run an honor-system farm-stand in the Green Mountain State.

A. Hairyhanded Gent's avatar

That's a dying concept elsewhere. In the early 70s there were honor system avocado stands in Spring Valley, CA, now a suburb of San Diego, and honor egg and produce stands in Arroyo Grande, CA, near San Luis Obispo.

Sad.

Now consider if you can even imagine cutting off a cereal box top, filling it put with name/address, taping some coins to it, and honestly expect it to arrive intact in Battle Creek, MI, let alone receive a plastic toy ray gun two weeks later. Yet that was routine in the 50s, and maybe later.

How does Substack identify the state? Is it by IP address? Address on credit card (for paid subscribers)? Some more complicated algorithm?

Jimmy Gandhi's avatar

Do. you have access to data by city or metropolitan area?

Steve Sailer's avatar

Not that I'm aware of.

I’m curious about the numbers coming from the blue states. I can’t imagine the education community in Seattle being big fans. Most of your readers are escapees from that intolerant town. Just shows that there is an underground movement everywhere who notice. The $100 is well worth it.

The damage done to wonderful West Coast cities like SF, Portland, Seattle, by the hideous ideology that has infected young adults is disgraceful. LA took some blows but its cacophonous sprawl swallowed and digested the troubles. Stuff just disappears in Steve's town. Pretty cities like SF and Seattle can't take that human abuse without significant bruising.

As a paying subscriber, I'm surprised so many of my fellow Bay Staters are cheapskates when it comes to your column.

I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed by the oil field roughnecks in N. Dakota. Perhaps you should appoint a Bakken Shale outreach coordinator?

There was a group of us NoVa fans who got together, I don't know, 6-8 years ago: Friends of Steve Sailer, the FOSSies.

Steve, you should do a San Fernando valley stop on your tour. You have so many great insights on the SFV and I would love to see you explain the difference between “IAN” and “YAN” Armenians to a live Valley audience.

John Farmer's avatar

I too would enjoy attending one of Steve's appearances in the SFV. I usually reserve nudity for the post office wherein Steve keeps his po box but if I receive a request I'll show up sans at Steve's SFV speaking event.

Erik's avatar

I'm SVF too. Nice to meet ya. Steve lives in the valley, so it wouldn't really be a tour stop

Ok then I guess you'll be doing Seattle at some point.

Have to admit I'm a bit surprised that you have so many fans up here in the Pacific NW. They certainly don't advertise their presence.

Hey maybe you could make it an international trip and do Vancouver as well.

It would be great if it could be even more granular. Northern vs Southern California would be particularly interesting

Hmm, has Steve run out of topics to talk about?
