A leftist white male post-doc at Yale in U.S. History named David Austin Walsh finally got frustrated at his inability to land a tenure track job, went on Twitter and spilled the beans about anti-white male bias in academic hiring:
This trend has been growing since 1969 and intensified over the last decade and especially since the “racial reckoning” of May 25, 2020. Simple arithmetic proves it must be happening, but what’s striking is how the press has largely covered it up for the last 55 years.
Many observers have a mental model of the demographic landscape of academia that is 2+ generations out of date: they continue to assume a 90% white male majority who can easily absorb a few "minorities" without too much personal sacrifice per capita.
Of course, as the white share of the younger population continues to decline steadily, we are running out of white guys to spread out the burden of DEI among. We've gone from white men making up, say, 90% of Harvard grads in 1969 to 30% today, so cost of DEI is 3x harsher per white man.
Few seem to notice this.
David Austin Walsh is too cucked with the mind virus to notice. Imagine how much you have to hate yourself to grovel to people who hate you.
Speaking from family knowledge. After George Floyd, no straight white male new PhD grads (including the best) have been able to get tenure-track positions or even post-docs. They don't even get interviews.
